What You Need to Know Before You Leave
Welcome to our comprehensive guide on the emissions sticker and the Environmental Zone in Dinslaken. Here, you'll find everything you need to know about the implementation of the Environmental Zone in Dinslaken, the mandatory emissions sticker, exceptions, parking options outside the zone, and other useful information for your visit to this city.
Implementation of the Emissions Zone Dinslaken
Since 1st July 2011, the Environmental Zone in Dinslaken has been established, requiring vehicles within this area to have a valid emissions sticker. The aim of this measure is to improve air quality in the city. For more information about other German cities with an emissions zone and general information about emissions stickers, you can refer to our main page.
Map of the Environmental Zone Dinslaken
The emissions zone in Dinslaken covers the central urban area and is clearly marked on the map. The zone is bounded by Willy-Brandt-Straße, the A59, Bruchstraße, Brinkstraße, Otto-Brenner-Straße, and the train station. These streets themselves are just outside the Environmental Zone. Within the zone, you must possess an emissions sticker; otherwise, you risk a fine of €100. The start of the zone is indicated by road signs, so you can easily see when you enter the zone.
Contrary to what you might expect, Dinslaken is not part of the larger Ruhr area emissions zone. This zone begins several kilometres south of Dinslaken, in the town of Walsum.

Exceptions
Within the emissions zone of Dinslaken, there are two areas where an emissions sticker is not required. These exceptions are located at the edge of the zone and include some streets accessible from Karlstraße, as well as a business area on Otto-Brenner-Straße. These areas are marked with blue indicators on the map and allow vehicles without an emissions sticker to enter without a fine.
Parking Outside the Environmental Zone Dinslaken
Visitors without an emissions sticker may consider parking outside the Environmental Zone. A suitable location is the shopping area on the other side of the tracks. This area offers ample parking, including parking lots (with charging points) from DIY stores, and is only a few minutes' walk from the city centre. If you are coming from the south (the direction of Walsum and/or Duisburg), you can also park around the business area near the car dealerships (click for maps links). Here, there is a large parking lot from which tram lines 902 and 903 run directly to the city centre.
For those who frequently drive in Germany, acquiring an emissions sticker can be a wise investment. Public transport from parking areas outside the emissions zone can quickly become more expensive than the one-time cost of the sticker.
Which Emissions Sticker is Required in Dinslaken?
In Dinslaken, the green emissions sticker is mandatory. Initially, red and yellow stickers were also allowed, but since 1st July 2014, only the green sticker is valid. This means that vehicles without a green sticker are not permitted to enter the emissions zone.
