Introduction of the Emissions Zone Cologne

Since January 1, 2010, an emissions sticker has been mandatory for access to the emissions zone in Bonn. This measure aims to improve air quality by restricting access for high-emission vehicles.

If you enter the orange-marked emissions zone with a car, you will need a Germany emissions sticker.

Exceptions to the Emissions Zone Cologne

On the A565 motorway north of Cologne and the A562 south of Bonn, access is allowed without an emissions sticker. This also applies to certain specific streets that form the western boundary of the emissions zone, such as Reuterstraße and Straßburger Weg.

Parking Outside the Emissions Zone in Cologne

If your car does not qualify for an emissions sticker or you prefer not to purchase one, you can park outside the emissions zone. Recommended parking locations include Parkhaus Brückenforum and P&R Tannenbusch-Süd, from where you can easily reach the centre of Bonn.

Which Emissions Sticker for Cologne?

Only vehicles with a green emissions sticker are permitted to enter the emissions zone in Bonn. Other stickers, such as red and yellow, have not been valid since July 1, 2014.
